Je dois admettre que la collection Paris-Dallas imaginée par Karl Lagerfeld ne m'a pas vraiment plu: trop de clichés, trop de bling-bling... peut-être a-t-il conçu cette collection à l'image des illusions que nous avons en général sur le Texas.
Bref, les préjugés qui marchaient pour Paris-Bombay ou Paris-Shanghai n'ont cette fois-ci pas donné une collection du meilleur goût.
Il faut pourtant admettre que le grand talent de Karl Lagerfeld réside dans sa faculté à mettre en scène les collections qu'il imagine.
La grande force de la maison Chanel est de savoir finalement créer un univers, une atmosphère qui n'appartiennent qu'à elle. Car le chic et la modernité qui manquaient au défilé font finalement leur retour sur les images du dossier de presse photographié par Karl Lagerfeld.
I must admit that Chanel's Paris-Dallas collection has not really appealed to me: too much cliché, too much bling-bling ... perhaps Karl Lagerfeld has designed this collection with the illusions and myths we used to have about Texas.
In short, what was working for either Paris-Bombay or Paris-Shanghai didn't give this time the best collection.
But Karl Lagerfeld's best talent lies in his ability to stage the collections he uses to create. The great strength of Chanel is ultimately to create a world, an atmosphere that only belong to Chanel.
Chic and modernity that were missing during the show finally made their return on the pictures of the press kit photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.
